With SetraHost cPanel web hosting accounts, we make it very simple to quickly secure your websites. Our SSL Certificates are automatically issued and renewed for every domain and subdomain on your account with nothing having to be done on your part. If you have just signed up, once your domain's DNS has resolved to our server, it will be automatically secured with a SSL certificate. If your SSL certificate has not been issued automatically, you can manually issue a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate directly from cPanel.
Step 1: Open SSL/TLS Certificates
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- From the Security section, click SSL/TLS Certificates.
Step 2: Select Your Domain
- Locate the domain you want to secure.
If you only have a few domains on your account, it may already be displayed in the list.
If you have many domains, use the search box to quickly find your domain.
- For most websites, select the *.yourdomain.com entry. This will automatically include your primary domain and related hostnames such as:
yourdomain.comwww.yourdomain.commail.yourdomain.com- Other supported service subdomains
If you only want to secure specific hostnames, such as yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com, you can instead select only those individual entries.
- Click Continue.
Step 3: Choose Let's Encrypt
- On the next screen, select Let's Encrypt Certificate.
A popup will appear asking you to accept the Let's Encrypt Terms of Service.
- Check the box beside:
I acknowledge that certificates are managed by the Let's Encrypt Terms of Service.
- Click Continue.
Step 4: Wait for the Certificate to Be Issued
Your SSL certificate will now begin issuing. In most cases, the process only takes a minute or two. Once complete, your website will automatically begin using HTTPS.
If the certificate does not issue successfully after a few minutes, make sure:
- Your browser isn't caching old data. Clear browser's cache, close browser and re-try to verify.
- Your domain points to your hosting account.
- Your DNS records are correct.
- Cloudflare or another proxy service is not preventing domain validation.
- There are no DNS changes still propagating.
